By Alaskans, for Alaska
Alyeska Venture Management supports early-stage Alaska-based entrepreneurs and manages the Alaska Accelerator Fund, the first seed capital fund in the state.
Alyeska Venture Management (AVM) helps guide early stage companies through business planning, strategy, fundraising, and growth. AVM currently invests directly through it's first fund, established in 2014, the Alaska Accelerator Fund (AAF). AAF is fully capitalized at $2.3mil from private individual investors and matched by the Anchorage Municipality. AAF invests exclusively in early stage Anchorage-based companies. All investors in our fund are Alaskan, and broadly represent our state business community.
Our mission is to bring together local capital and business acumen, and together, support the growth of Alaska entrepreneurship.
We provide professional management every step of the way.
AAF is managed by a team of professionals who are responsible for initial identification of investment opportunities, due diligence, and execution of final investment decisions. All investment decisions are made solely by members of the AAF fund.
We provide professional support for our investments every step of the way, from the business planning stages to market penetration to managing a successful exit. AVM supports portfolio companies to better ensure that they have the right product, team and strategy for each stage of their business development.
We're growing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Alaska.
In addition to raising local capital and investing in local companies, AVM offers a range of opportunities to support entrepreneurs. We are partnered with and based out of The Boardroom, Alaska's first coworking space, and we support a variety of entrepreneur educational events like 1 Million Cups, Startup Weekend, Investor Forums, Startup Digest, and are a member of the Alaska Investor Network
